I am once again settling in the Norfeast.* Details to come.

In the meantime, anyone have thoughts on how to "man up" an overpoweringly pink bathroom? Should I just go all Hart Foundation on it and add black towels, candles, etc.?

* = Note I do not pronounce it this way.

I've gotten a few nibbles on some of these via Craigslist but nothing too serious. Also, the artwork I'm offering for the first time to you good people ahead of anyone else. Local buyers/pickup preferred.

In the late spring and early summer of 2005, I negotiated with a good man named Jim McGuinn for a chance to do something I had only dreamed about. As spring turns to summer 4 years later, it looks like that dream is coming to an end.

For various personal reasons, I will be moving out of Center City Philadelphia at the end of this month. As a result, my term as the longest continuously serving Y-Rock DJ -- at least as a volunteer/listener from outside the original Y100 staff -- will end.

My last regular shift is tomorrow, Wednesday 6/24 10am-1pm EST, including the Old School Nooner.

The Circuit, my baby, Y-Rock's collection of alternative electronics and progressive rhythms, will run previously recorded episodes through the July 4th weekend Saturday nights at 10pm EST. I can't make any promises, but I hope to continue the show in some form after that point. I will also do my very best to be available to fill in for other Y-Rock DJs on an emergency basis and represent the station (and see all of your smiling faces) at shows and live events.

It's been an honor and a privilege to fight the good fight for good music alongside you folks.

Attention all home-dwellers and happy homemakers on my friends list! I have a household maintenance issue that requires your input and advice. (Yes, from you, and you, maybe even you.)

It's the dreaded recurring slow bathtub drain. I can't remember the last time the water went straight down the drain during a shower so that you could see the tub floor throughout... the tub's regularly 1/4 to 3/4 full afterwards. Some chemical uncloggers have failed to produce acceptable results so far. All in all, ick.

I'm in a high-rise apartment, so I know YMMV and all that other contextual nonsense. Certain solutions will be broached with my landlord and building management, of course. With this in mind, kids, what solution(s) has best worked for you?

1. a Liquid Plumr product (if so, which one?)
2. a Drano product (if so, which one?)
3. some other brand/product
4. Plumber A: "...motherfucking snake in a motherfucking drain"
5. Plumber B: replace drain, pipes, and/or tub
6. some combination of 1.-5.
7. other: __________________

This coming week (starting May 11) Y-Rock on XPN goes "undercover!" It's a special Covers Week, where alternative/indie/modern rock's best perform each others' work as well as selections from the pantheon of music. I'll be participating Wednesday from 10am-1pm EST (including an all-covers edition of the Old School Nooner) and Saturday from 8pm-midnight (including an all-covers Circuit).

And if you didn't win tickets for Philadelphia's next Making Time party (21+), email me [adam\\at\\yrockonxpn\\dot\\org] because I'll be picking random winners throughout the week! Making Time happens Friday, May 22, and in addition to regulars like Dave P., his band of merry DJs, and uber-rad drink specials, this one features live performances from the artists behind two of this year's most anticipated electronic albums: The Juan Maclean and The Field!

My shift this Saturday (May 9) on Y-Rock on XPN promises to be a doozy!

Sometime between 8-10pm EST I'll be giving away passes to see the first-ever Philadelphia performance by The Prodigy on Tuesday, May 19!

Then... you probably know that Y-Rock does Radio Takeovers where musicians and celebrities (Ben Kweller, M. Ward, Amanda Palmer, Rainn Wilson, and Shane Victorino to name a few) come in to play DJ and pick music near and dear to their hearts. Well, the first-ever Turntable Takeover is coming to The Circuit, as I welcome to the studio DJ 23 of New Castle, Delaware for a bracing mix of industrial, synthpop, and electronic body music at 10pm!

ETA: Wait, wait, that's not all! I just found out that after DJ 23's mix, I'll have more tickets to give away! The next Making Time party on Friday, May 22 features Dave Pianka and his band of merry DJs, plus live performances from the artists behind two of this year's most anticipated electronic albums: The Juan Maclean and The Field!

Listen online or on 88.5 HD-2!

Just when I was starting to wonder about him having a little bit of TEH GHEY, Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor went and got himself engaged.
